The following are some essential tips for a successful Face Painting Party:

§  The first thing you will need is a good supply of small damp sponges at your disposal. The easiest way to get these is to buy a few big sponges and divide them up into smaller ones. Sponges are much quicker for dabbing paint all over the face and you can finish the job much sooner than by using paint brushes. Make sure you use a different sponge for each new colour so you don’t end up with an awful mess.

§  Always remember to take your time and don’t panic. If you are painting a couple of faces in the same design then it is always best to apply one colour and then move onto the next face and do the same. By the time you have painted the last face it will have given the face paint on the first child’s face time to dry. Then you can continue with applying the next colour. It is also gives a better effect if you apply a number of layers of paint over each other rather than applying a single layer too thickly, as the heavier you apply the face paint the longer it will take to dry.

§  Always have a picture of the finished result in front of you, this will save you loads of time and will be a great reference guide. You should also try to have a visual picture of the finished product in your head as children are not blessed with endless patience and will be far too excited with the party to sit for a long period while you are scratching your head trying to figure out what to do next.
